If you are in the wedding & portrait photography business, you probably know about the ongoing debate between Nikon vs. Canon (much like the Apple vs. Windows debate). I’ve been shooting Nikon since I began eight years ago with a D40, then a D300, and finally the D700. I love Nikon and it just works for me. I don’t really get myself too involved in the which one is better game. But lately, I’ve been paying attention to what Sony is doing and all the amazing reviews for their newest mirrorless cameras. Especially since I’ve been struggling with back, neck, and wrist pain from shooting and carrying my equipment. So I took the plunge and purchased the Sony A6000 last night and could not be more excited about the images I captured on Day One. I really bought this camera for personal and travel use, but i think I’ll also be using it for client sessions after seeing the results from one day of shooting. And this camera just makes me want to SHOOT! How fun to be inspired again.
By the way, it’s Valentines Day and an amazing 80+ degrees here in SoCal. That would explain the bathing suits of Brooklyn and our neighbor Caitlin.
I have lots to learn about this camera and settings but here is a sneak peek at what it can capture….
